| The
Batik section was started in 1987 as a source
of employment for the numerous leprosy patients
and physically handicapped in the surrounding
area. Although our Medical Program has eradicated
leprosy from the surrounding communities,
the Batik section continues to provide employment
opportunity to many poor men and women. We
have inland and overseas market for our products.
Fair Trade organizations are supporting to
give employment opportunity to these poor
people. This has become an income - generating
unit that provides much needed funds to support
our Administration & programmes Children's
Villages and Outreach Housing Programs |

The
Batik department uses natural dyes and other natural
materials in an effort to remain environmentally
conscious. The wax used in the process is collected
and re-used to help keep manufacturing and dying
process economically viable.
The designs produced follow patterns
designed by local artists and students, but customers
can specify custom designs, which we are more
than happy to accommodate.
